GEO Business – the UK’s largest event dedicated to the geospatial profession – will soon open its doors at ExCeL London for two packed days of discovery, learning and networking. From 18-19 May, 3,000 professionals will come together under one roof to see the latest technology and to hear from leading experts.

120 geospatial brands can be found across the show floor, each showcasing how data, tools and solutions can help us gain insights into the world around us. Not only that, 150 respected speakers will deliver presentations across six stages – all of which are free to attend, offering a valuable opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of key geospatial areas.

Ollie Hughes, Event Director for GEO Business, says, “GEO Business is just a week away and we are looking forward to welcoming thousands of visitors to ExCeL London for what will be a fantastic two-day show. I invite you to explore the show floor and the seminar programme, where you’ll discover first-hand what’s at the forefront of the geospatial profession.”

Tools to help you work smarter

At GEO Business, visitors can meet a plethora of equipment manufacturers, software companies and service providers of geospatial technology. These include big names such as Hexagon (Leica Geosystems), Trimble & KOREC, and Topcon Positioning alongside software pioneers such as Esri UK, Landmark, Verisk 3DVI, and what3words.

Moreover, game-changing products will be on full display, including GeoSLAM’s ZEB Vision, Leica’s AP20 AutoPole, Topcon’s GT Series and Clear Edge software, Landmark Geodata’s Promap and Envirocheck, Measureand’s Terra Insights, RIEGL’s UAV LiDAR with Clogworks’ Dark Matter uX UAV, and Seafloor Systems’ Uncrewed Service Vessel.

Over on the Trimble & KOREC stand, visitors can see the Trimble X7 3D Laser Scanner, R12i GNSS and S-Series Robotic Total Stations. Plus, the Trimble MX50 Mobile Mapping System will demonstrate its capabilities. The team are more than happy to answer questions on ANAFI, SenseFly drone technology, K-Capture, and Trimble Catalyst.

Further mobile mapping demonstrations come courtesy of Hexagon (Leica Geosystems)and 135 Geographic Squadron RE. And elsewhere, AETHA/Vantage UAV will run a competition to test your drone pilot skills in a DJI drone interactive race simulator.

And not to be missed, the Leica BLK ARC autonomous laser scanning module can be seen in action, live on the show floor, in combination with the much-loved SPOT robot from Boston Dynamics.

Insights from the forefront of geospatial

The GEO Business programme has been curated to reflect the most pressing geospatial issues, from the metaverse, infrastructure, and asset management to climate change, sustainability, and the impact of the pandemic. Speakers represent organisations such as Arup, Atkins, Geospatial Commission, Greater London Authority, Met Office, Open Geospatial Consortium, Ordnance Survey, Royal Engineers, Satellite Applications Catapult and SKANSKA.

The Government’s Geospatial Commission will also be at the show, sharing insights into the UK’s geospatial strategy and advising on the best use of geospatial data. Visitors can find them in their dedicated pavilion or on stage delivering several in-depth talks.

For those invested in the future of the profession, the Education Zone is a must-visit. Education providers such as AGI Early Careers Network, Get Kids Into Survey, Newcastle University and UCL will be available to chat with. And over at the Future of the Profession Theatre, visitors can hear talks from the likes of CICES, AGI and TSA Survey School.

Social spaces to relax and network

In addition to the action of the show floor and seminar theatres, visitors can unwind in the GEO Lounge alongside like-minded geospatial professionals. And the GEO Drinks trail is back by popular demand! All visitors, exhibitors and speakers are invited for an hour of drinks and networking at the end of day one – the perfect opportunity to catch up on industry news and forge new business contacts.

Ollie Hughes continues, “GEO Business is known as an open and inclusive show, where networking comes naturally and people are more than happy to share their skills and knowledge. So, however you spend your time at the show, I’m confident you’ll leave feeling more informed and inspired.”
