The Carbon Project Selected to Support Major Mapping Testbed

  • Rating12345

ALEXANDRIA, VA – The Carbon Project today announced it has been selected by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGCR) to support the Testbed 12 Interoperability Initiative.

In OGC Testbed 12, major sponsoring organizations work with technology providers from around the world to test new ways for mapping software to share information.  When participants gain consensus on what works, they document key points for new international standards to improve global information sharing.

“We’re proud to bring our latest cloud-based services to OGC Testbed 12,” said Jeff Harrison, CEO of The Carbon Project.  “For this effort we’ll adapt our mapping data platforms to test and document new peer-to-peer data sharing, web services and data compression methods.”

The OGC is an international consortium of more than 515 organizations developing publicly available standards that let web mapping and location-based services work together. The Carbon Project is a small-business member of the Open Geospatial Consortium.
