The 7th International Symposium on Digital Earth

The 7th International Symposium on Digital Earth (ISDE7) with the theme of the Knowledge Generation will be held in Perth, Australia from 23-25, August 2011 in conjunction with the Western Australian Land Information System (WALIS) Forum and the State Natural Resources Management (NRM) Conference.

The International Symposium on Digital Earth is a series of symposia, which is an important academic event of the International Society for Digital Earth. The International Society for Digital Earth is a non-political, non-governmental and not-for-profit international organization. To date, the series of International Symposium on Digital Earth was successfully convened in China (1999), Canada (2001), the Czech Republic (2003), Japan (2005), USA (2007) and China (2009), respectively.

WALIS Forum is one of the premier GIS conferences in Australia. WALIS (the Western Australian Land Information System) will be celebrating its 30 Year anniversary with a world-class conference featuring international speakers, workshops on key issues, a fabulous trade exhibition and brilliant Perth hospitality.

The 2011 Western Australian Natural Resource Management Conference(Western Australian NRM Conference)provides an excellent opportunity for those concerned with sustainable management of our natural resources to draw-together knowledge on current best practice in natural resource management.

The combination of ISDE7, WALIS Forum and the Western Australian NRM Conference will offer an exciting program to delegates, and enable digital earth modelers and experts in the spatial sciences and natural resources management industries – providing a brand new opportunity to share their ideas and insights on how we share knowledge and act together globally.

Program
The conference program will cover a broad range of digital earth modelling, natural resources management and geographic information issues. The Conference will involve plenary sessions,parallel sessions, workshops and “coffee house” sessions with specific land care and digital earth themes. A range of innovative sessions that cater to a wide audience also will be held. The Conference will feature a ‘Rapid Fire – Emerging Technologies’ seminar where presenters will be given the opportunity to exhibit or showcase their organisation.
