  • Rating12345

With HTML5 & WebGL it is possible to render 3D content directly in the Web browser without the need for Plugins or Applets. A  demonstrator has been put online by the GIScience Research Group (http://giscience.uni-hd.de) at the University of Heidelberg, that shows how to stream large point clouds that have been derived from laser scanning with this new technology.  Explore the possibilities at http://webgl.uni-hd.de  All you need is a recent version of a WebGL enabled Browser such as Firefox8.
