SMBs in Philippines Told to Prioritize Disaster Preparedness

IT solutions company Symantec urged small-to-medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in the country to make disaster preparedness as one of their top priorities. Citing Symantec’s 2011 SMB Disaster Preparedness Survey in the Philippines, the study showed SMBs are not making disaster preparedness a priority until they experience a disaster or data loss. Luichi Robles, senior country manager of Symantec Philippines, reported that 51 percent of respondents from the Philippines do not have a plan in place, and 33 percent said it never occurred to them to put a disaster recovery plan.
