Rolta Launches Sophisticated Maritime Security Solutions

  • Rating12345

Rolta today announced that it has acquired the complete portfolio of CommandBridge™ security technologies, including source code, design and software architecture, under an agreement with The Mariner Group, LLC of the United States, with perpetual exclusive rights for world-wide markets, except for non-exclusive rights for North America and certain European countries.

Mariner provides market leading actionable situational awareness and response software solutions for maritime security, critical infrastructure protection and emergency operations. Mariner’s software has been proven in very demanding conditions and enjoys an enviable track-record. For example, it is operational 24/7 at the US Coast Guard to ensure the safety and security of US waters. At the US Coast Guard’s Sector Command Center in Los Angeles/Long Beach, this technology is used to facilitate the execution of multiple US Coast Guard missions in its domain and provides information and coordination capability to other government agencies and port partners. Mariner’s software is deployed in many other agencies, including the US Navy, and local and regional port security operations.

Over the past few years, Rolta has established a robust product development organization which has successfully developed numerous high-tech solutions for defense, homeland security, process and power, utilities, telecommunications, government and commercial markets. Acquisition of these technologies further strengthens Rolta’s comprehensive solutions for Homeland and Maritime Security, and positions the Company very well to address critical and complex requirements of agencies responsible for maritime monitoring and protection of ports, shipping channels, and coastal regions.

Identifying real security threats from the flood of information available is today a vital concern. Rolta’s solutions provide users with a highly configurable, security-based, situation-awareness platform, which allows security operations personnel, command and control centers, intelligence analysts and others to collaboratively interpret information and make actionable recommendations for vessel traffic management, critical off-shore and on-shore asset protection, fisheries control, search and rescue operations, and prevention of contraband trafficking.

“We are indeed very pleased by this agreement with Rolta,” said Steve Dryden, President and CEO of Mariner. “The Mariner Group has world class technology for helping government agencies and commercial entities communicate so they can anticipate, preempt and deter threats. Rolta has the market knowledge and reach to bring this technology to agencies around the world that are challenged by increasing threats to critical infrastructure assets, economic stability and human lives.”

Mr. K.K. Singh, Chairman and CEO of Rolta said, “Rolta has been making significant investments in R&D and acquisition of world-class technologies to develop increasingly sophisticated defense, homeland and maritime security solutions. This strategic and comprehensive acquisition of technology will enable the Company to rapidly build state-of-the-art solutions tailored to suit specific needs of various geographies, especially India, thereby positioning it strongly in the homeland and maritime security market, and to contribute to making our world more secure and safe.”
