November 10, 2015 — November 4 and 5, 2015, RIEGL attended and presented at 3D Laser Mapping’s User Conference “Digital Information in 3D” at the Prince Philip House in London. At the event, the new RIEGL VZ-400i terrestrial laser scanner was officially launched in the UK!

3D Laser Mapping ( www.3dlasermapping.com ) is RIEGL’s long term partner and distributor in the United Kingdom and invited their customers and prospects to join the ”Digital Information in 3D” Conference to learn more about the potential of using 3D Scanning.

“The goal of the conference was to provide information on the added value that using 3D measurement technology can bring to many different fields of work“, Graham Hunter, 3D Laser Mapping CEO, said and continued, “To do this, we were pleased to invite long-standing partner RIEGL to report on the latest developments in laser scanning and hardware and software, as well as bringing Phase One Industrial and IGI to our agenda. Presentations from existing customers also provided informative case studies on the many ways in which this technology can be applied, covering terrestrial, mobile and airborne.”

For the attendees, 3D Laser Mapping organized a broad display of RIEGL products: the versatile VZ-2000, the ultra-long range VZ-4000, the cost-effective and user-friendly VMZ Hybrid Mobile Mapping System, and the RiCOPTER with VUX-SYS for UAV-based surveying applications.

On site, there was also a display of RIEGL’s new VZ-400i terrestrial laser scanner. Showcased in the UK for the first time, the new laser scanning system drew a lot of positive attention. The features and benefits of this new end-to-end laser scanning system were also explained during in-depth presentations.

Further presentations on the topic of the mobile (hybrid) VMZ solution (showcased with up-to-date demo data acquired the same week in Bingham, Nottingham), the RiCOPTER, RIEGL’s software package RiSOLVE for police applications, industrial laser scanning, and the VP-1 Helipod provided the visitors with an insight into the latest RIEGL developments.

The feedback of the conference attendees was great! They were excited to join this conference offering them the opportunity to get up-to-date information to discuss their topics and questions as well as to exchange experiences.

“We were given the chance to present our products directly to our growing UK customer base as well as many prospective customers” Johannes Riegl Jr., RIEGL CMO, stated. “It is extremely important for us to have close customer interaction and exchange in order to develop market oriented, advanced solutions and workflows. Congratulations to the 3D Laser Mapping team on this really well organized, well run event! We look forward to our further cooperation and future events.”
