Prestigious Award Highlights Intergraph Customers at Hexagon 2012

  • Rating12345

Intergraph SG&I announced the winners of the 2012 Icon Awards today during keynote presentations at Hexagon 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Icon Awards are Intergraph SG&I’s most prestigious honor for innovative organizations utilizing Intergraph’s solutions.

This year’s Icon Awards highlight four Intergraph SG&I customers for their visionary use of Intergraph’s software. Winners of this distinguished award are Alberta Health Services, responsible for delivering health services to the 3.5 million people living in Alberta, Canada; Emergency Services Telecommunications Authority (ESTA), an organization providing and managing emergency operational communications for the dispatch of police, fire, ambulance and State Emergency Services in Victoria, Australia; Oklahoma Department of Transportation, responsible for the construction, maintenance and regulation of the state’s transportation infrastructure and the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF), the aviation branch of the Saudi Arabian armed forces. These winners have innovatively used Intergraph solutions to considerably benefit their industries.
“We are excited to see these customers represent Intergraph SG&I’s highest customer honor. It is a pleasure to have the opportunity to reward these visionary organizations who utilize Intergraph solutions to make smarter decisions and achieve extraordinary results,” said John Graham, President, Security, Government & Infrastructure Division, Intergraph Corporation.
Icon Award Winner Profiles
Alberta Health Services
Alberta Health Services (AHS) coordinates and delivers health support and services, including emergency medical services, to 3.5 million people in the community of Alberta, Canada.  In 2009, AHS assumed responsibility for 12 formerly separate health entities in the province, leaving them in need of a system all 12 agencies could utilize. AHS selected Intergraph’s Computer-Aided Dispatch solution to provide its EMS team with a certified dispatch environment flexible and scalable enough to accommodate its workflows. With more than 400,000 ambulance calls per year, AHS currently utilizes more than 500 ambulances dispatched through Intergraph’s software. The Intergraph solution is used at three major dispatch centers in the province, with each dispatch center serving approximately 11 stations.
Using Intergraph’s CAD solution, all AHS agencies are now running on the same platform, giving the entire province view of what is occurring. This enables AHS to send the closest ambulance to a patient located within the province, ultimately saving lives.
Emergency Services Telecommunications Authority
Handling more than two million emergency calls per year, Emergency Services Telecommunications Authority (ESTA) in Victoria, Australia, needed to improve the communication between the ESTA CAD system and agencies that use information held in the environment. To support sharing of critical information, ESTA implemented Intergraph’s Interoperability Framework for CAD and Microsoft® BizTalk® Server 2009 Enterprise Edition software to provide real-time data communication with Ambulance Victoria. ESTA is responsible for emergency operational communications for the dispatch of police, fire, ambulance and State Emergency Services.
Using Intergraph’s software, ESTA now has the capability to better integrate with other external systems, reducing development, implementation, management and maintenance costs over the lifetime of the solution. Intergraph’s solution has enabled significant improvements in the information delivery service for ESTA customers.

Oklahoma Department of Transportation
Oklahoma Department of Transportation (DOT) uses Intergraph’s Oversize/Overweight (OSOW) solution to manage its vehicle routing and permitting functions in the state of Oklahoma. Oklahoma DOT is responsible for the maintenance of 6,800 bridges and 31,000 lane-miles of road throughout the state. Of this, more than 12,000 lane-miles are Interstate highways. The Department also owns 850 miles of railway.
With help from Intergraph Oklahoma DOT and the Department of Public Safety developed an automated OSOW Permitting and Routing solution and are making this new system available to the public via the internet. The system allows Oklahoma DOT to streamline the workflow for requesting and approving an operating permit for the state of Oklahoma while providing a robust routing application to evaluate alternate routes using existing enterprise GIS and asset data for constraints on the network. The solution also provides a robust map based interface for managing the temporary and long-term restrictions which impacts the travel and routing of these vehicles.
Royal Saudi Air Force
The Directorate of Air Intelligence at Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) wanted to establish a multi-intelligence database to streamline communication and establish a single source for data collection and sharing across its organization. Using Intergraph technology, RSAF built a state-of-the-art Intelligence Analysis System. This system is a geospatially powered enterprise production and analysis solution. It transforms vast amounts of complex data into actionable intelligence.
Using Intergraph’s Geospatial Intelligence Production solution, RSAF can build and manage geospatial databases, produce operational maps and analyze and fuse geospatial intelligence. Intergraph solutions, such as Image Scout®, TerraShare®, GeoMedia® Motion Video Analyst, and ERDAS IMAGINE®, were key in achieving RSAF’s organizational goal of creating and maintaining their Intelligence Analysis System. RSAF’s innovative use of Intergraph’s geospatial intelligence production solution is advancing smarter decisions at the Royal Saudi Air Force base and for the people they protect.
