Berlin, Germany, Bengaluru, India, and Los Angeles, California: Pixxel, a planetary intelligence company leveraging satellites, systems and software to build a health monitor for the planet, and UP42, the next-generation platform and marketplace for Earth observation data and analytics, announced their partnership today, making data from Pixxel’s Firefly constellation available to UP42’s global customer base.

End users of UP42 will be able to order 5-meter resolution hyperspectral imagery from Pixxel’s six-satellite Firefly constellation, covering 135+ spectral bands with a 40 km swath width, an unprecedented capability for commercial use.
Pixxel’s hyperspectral imagery unlocks a new dimension of analysis for Earth observation, offering the ability to detect subtle signals and granular insights invisible to conventional multispectral sensors. Pixxel’s data will support various applications in agriculture, climate, and forestry, from identifying crop stress before it’s visible to soil analysis and environmental monitoring.
Awais Ahmed, Founder and CEO, Pixxel, said: “UP42 has created one of the most dynamic ecosystems in the Earth observation industry. Being a part of their platform will open up our hyperspectral imagery to a global community. We look forward to joining the impressive roster of constellations on their platform and enabling innovators everywhere to integrate a richer layer of Earth data into their solutions.”
“Pixxel’s Firefly constellation brings a powerful new hyperspectral data source to UP42,” said Jussi Koski, CPO of UP42. “Our users will have the ability to order fresh imagery from Pixxel. We’re excited to see how their constellation and capabilities will expand over the course of our partnership.”
This collaboration marks a significant step towards Pixxel’s vision of making hyperspectral imaging a mainstream tool for understanding and improving life on Earth. By joining UP42’s ecosystem, Pixxel is expanding the reach of its Firefly constellation to a global network of innovators addressing critical challenges across various industries and geographies.

About Pixxel
Pixxel is a planetary intelligence company redefining Earth observation and building a health monitor for the planet. With the successful launch of six commercial hyperspectral satellites, Fireflies, Pixxel is now focusing on assembling a constellation of 18-24 satellites designed for a daily revisit frequency anywhere on Earth. This constellation will deliver the world’s highest-resolution hyperspectral imagery, enabling industries to detect, observe, and predict critical global phenomena across agriculture, oil and gas, mining, environment, and other sectors with 5m resolution and 50x richer detail than conventional satellites.
Aurora by Pixxel, the company’s in-house Earth Observation Studio, enables users to analyse satellite imagery effortlessly and makes hyperspectral data more accessible, interpretable, and actionable across industries. In addition to its Earth observation capabilities, Pixxel also designs and manufactures advanced small satellites, pushing the boundaries of spacecraft technology for a range of applications.
Pixxel has raised $95 million from M&G Catalyst, Glade Brook Capital Partners, Aditya Birla Ventures, Google, Lightspeed, Radical Ventures and others. For more information, visit www.pixxel.space or follow Pixxel on LinkedIn and X/Twitter.
