Pix4D and Bad Elf collaborate to offer advanced 3D scanning for AEC professionals

  • Rating12345

Pix4D, a Swiss company and leading provider of drone and mobile smartphone mapping and photogrammetry solutions, announces that their smartphone scanning application PIX4Dcatch is now compatible with the Bad Elf Flex® GNSS receiver.

PIX4Dcatch is a user-friendly 3D scanning and AR visualization tool, used by Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) professionals worldwide. It is a comprehensive solution that combines photogrammetry, LiDAR technology, and RTK positioning to deliver precise and accurate results.

Bad Elf Flex is the first scalable-accuracy GNSS receiver with a daily option to choose between L-Band and RTK. Bad Elf Flex, in standard configuration, achieves 30-60 cm accuracy in real time for GIS use. Bad Elf’s daily token model unlocks a full RTK workflow for a 24-hour period to deliver 1 cm horizontal accuracy. Customers requiring high accuracy at all times may upgrade at any time to the Bad Elf Flex Extreme with RTK capabilities permanently unlocked.

PIX4Dcatch, combined with the Bad Elf Flex GNSS receiver, provides surveying, construction, and building professionals the ability to create highly accurate 3D models using mobile smartphone scanning technology. The combination allows for the precise measurement of distances and volumes, facilitating efficient documentation and visualization of existing site conditions. The scans can be easily exported to CAD/GIS platforms for inspection, sharing, and collaboration among project stakeholders.

“We are excited to expand our collaboration with leading GNSS receiver manufacturers and happy to see Bad Elf Flex joining the family of devices supported in PIX4Dcatch. This joint solution will add more flexibility for customers seeking a reliable, precise, and accurate mobile 3D mapping solution for as-built documentation and verification.” – Andrey Kleymenov, Chief Commercial Officer of Pix4D.

“Integrating Bad Elf’s high-precision GNSS technology with Pix4D’s advanced photogrammetry software sets a new benchmark for accuracy and efficiency in geospatial data collection. This partnership ensures that users can achieve exceptional accuracy and efficiency in their fieldwork, transforming industries such as construction, utilities, environmental management, agriculture, and mining.” – Larry Fox, VP Marketing and Business Development, Bad Elf
