PCI Geomatics to Present OBIA and InSAR Papers at ISRSE-37

  • Rating12345

MARKHAM, Ontario, Canada – PCI Geomatics, a world-leading developer of remote sensing and photogrammetric software and systems, announced today it will present two papers at the 37th International Symposium on Remote Sensing of Environment (ISRSE) in Tshwane, South Africa. The event runs from May 8 to May 12, 2017.

The first paper (co-authored by John Wessels, senior SAR scientist at PCI Geomatics and Gordon Staples, senior analyst/project manager, Maritime Services at MDA) will be presented in the Interferometry for Surface Deformation session on May 8 at 3:30 p.m. The paper is titled “InSAR for oil field deformation monitoring during cyclic steam stimulation”. The paper will discuss Interferometric SAR (InSAR), a new interferometric image-processing add-on for Geomatica that can be used for topographic feature extraction and deformation monitoring.

Wolfgang Lück, PCI Geomatics senior scientist, will present his paper, “Using machine learning and OBIA for the automation of land cover classification with a time series of Landsat and Sentinel-2 data” in the Land Cover Monitoring Session on May 11 at 11 a.m.Mr. Lück will discuss field-validated results produced with Object Analyst, a new object-based image analysis (OBIA) add-on to Geomatica that permits segmentation, classification, and feature extraction of imagery.

Both presenters will showcase the scientific rigor applied, the operational nature, and ease of use of InSAR and Object Analyst. PCI Geomatics is also an exhibitor at the symposium. Participants can contact the presenters during the event to discuss the presentations and the new capabilities of InSAR and Object Analyst in Geomatica.
