Optech is pleased to announce that it is now releasing the Ladybug spherical imaging camera from Point Grey Research Inc. as a new option for the Optech Lynx Mobile Mapper. The Ladybug is completely integrated within the Lynx system, offering full control and calibration with the Optech Lynx Survey software, local recording of image data, seamless integration into the Lynx processing workflow, and full operational and processing support. The Ladybug will be available for all new Lynx systems, and will also be an optional upgrade for current users of the industry-leading Lynx M1 systems.
“Our clients have been asking for this,” says Albert Iavarone, Business Unit Manager at Optech. “The Ladybug gives our customers the versatility to pursue large mapping contracts that call for spherical imagery in addition to the design engineering work that is most typically associated with Lynx. Our goal is for Lynx users to keep their systems as busy as possible, and this is another step in that direction.”
Lynx systems incorporating the Ladybug are expected to be available for delivery at the end of June in conjunction with Optech’s Third Imaging and Lidar Solutions Conference, being held in Toronto, Canada on June 25-27. ILSC 2013 is an open forum where current and prospective users of Optech products, along with other industry professionals, can discuss best practices and explore practical “real-world” lidar and camera solutions.
