OpenGeo, the organization behind the OpenGeo Suite is supporting the 2011 FOSS4G conference in a major way. This year’s conference features twenty workshops, talks, and tutorials hosted by OpenGeo team members. One highlight will surely be the keynote address by Paul Ramsey, Senior Consultant at OpenGeo and PostGIS co-founder. Additionally, the first meeting of the OpenGeo Partner Network will take place just prior to the conference.

Chris Holmes, OpenGeo President, is once again looking forward to meeting with so many members of the open source geospatial community. When asked about OpenGeo’s relationship with FOSS4G he said, “Support for FOSS4G and OSGeo is a top priority for OpenGeo. We are committed to the open source community— from PostGIS to GeoServer, OpenLayers and more. Our goal is development and support efforts that don’t just leverage existing technologies, but improve upon the core open source projects used by everyone.”

Eddie Pickle, OpenGeo Sr. Vice President, added: “FOSS4G is the key forum for meeting with our friends, clients, and partners as well as for exchanging knowledge to improve open source geospatial software. We are particularly excited to be meeting with the members of our global partner network. Our partners are crucial in helping users around the world improve their geospatial applications. FOSS4G is truly a unique opportunity for all of us to advance the impact of open source geospatial software.”
