  • Rating12345

The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC®) is pleased to announce that Dassault Systèmes has joined the OGC as a Principal Member.

As a Principal Member of OGC, Dassault Systèmes will participate across OGC activities and serve in OGC’s Planning Committee to explore market and technology trends relevant to OGC’s mission to assure that OGC’s policies and procedures remain effective and agile in a changing technological environment. Principal Members also participate in final approval decisions for all OGC standards and for nominations to the Board of Directors.

“Dassault Systèmes and OGC share similar visions about the value of location information to improve the ways we live and work,” said George Percivall, OGC’s CTO & Chief Engineer. “We look forward to working with Dassault Systèmes in the development, implementation, and evolution of OGC standards to meet changing market needs.”

“The Open Geospatial Consortium is an ideal community for championing the ideas and technologies that will shape the cities of the future,” said Ingeborg Rocker, VP of 3DEXPERIENCity, Dassault Systèmes. “A sustainable future is only possible with the collaboration and participation of governments, research organizations, and enterprises with the technological expertise to bring ideas into reality. A cross-industry and domain approach is mandatory to guarantee the interoperability that present and future work- and lifestyle-solutions need. We’re proud to work with the OGC to help set the standards for this modern challenge.”

About the OGC

The OGC is an international consortium of more than 525 companies, government agencies, research organizations, and universities participating in a consensus process to develop publicly available geospatial standards. OGC standards support interoperable solutions that ‘geo-enable’ the Web, wireless and location based services, and mainstream IT. OGC standards empower technology developers to make geospatial information and services accessible and useful with any application that needs to be geospatially enabled.
