A government-appointed committee recently submitted its report on the connection between the resources, impact and quality of publicly funded research in Norway. A main goal of the committee has been to suggest ways to improve the framework for the most innovative research. “The report by the Fagerberg committee is interesting, but it does little to advance the debate on Norwegian research.
