August 26, 2015 — NordMap is a web-mapping tool for municipal and regional data that enables users to create customised maps. It is a new online version of the Nordregio map collection, focusing on demography, labour market and accessibility throughout the Nordic region.
You can quickly create customised maps, scope and analyse local and regional development patterns and interact with the data easily, explains the project manager Julien Grunfelder from Nordregio. NordMap breaks the Nordic country borders and provides large scale geographical data that allows users to identify areas with similar regional characteristics, just as it can monitor development patterns that have unfolded through time.Since 1997, Nordregio has been known for making high-quality maps that illustrate regional development patterns across a wide range of social, economic, and environmental themes.
NordMap is an interactive version of the data collection and ready to use at www.nordmap.se. It is free to use and requires no previous mapping or GIS experience.NordMap is developed through a project within the Nordic Working Group for Demography and Welfare under the Committee of Senior Officials for Regional Policy, Nordic Council of Ministers.
