  • Rating12345

NAVTEQ has been chosen by Garmin as map data supplier for Romania.  The NAVTEQ Map of Romania is now available not only on Garmin’s new nüvi 40 LM Romania but also as an optional download for existing Garmin portable devices. The entry level nüvi 40 LM Romania includes a free subscription to nüMaps Lifetime featuring up to four annual downloads of the latest map data for the life of the device.  In Romania, the NAVTEQ Map is built by a team of geographic analysts based in Bucharest and well placed to create and maintain local map coverage and to provide updated information throughout the year.  Current Romanian coverage already reaches the whole population and includes over 161,500 kilometres of road network plus around 154,350 Points of Interest.

“Our aim is always to provide the ultimate navigation experience and we chose NAVTEQ map data for Romania based on its quality, level of coverage and currency,” commented Daniel Stadtmann, Product Manager Emerging Markets, Garmin.  “We believe the combination of Garmin devices and NAVTEQ data offers Romanian drivers an unrivalled navigation package.”

The nüvi 40 LM Romania is the perfect starting point for any journey, providing GPS navigation at its simplest with accurate turn-by-turn directions and spoken street names.

“We’re very proud of the strong global relationship with Garmin based on the common goal of delivering the best possible quality.  For Romania, the objective was to provide content which would help guide drivers efficiently and effectively to their destinations,” added Bruno Bourguet, Vice President Sales EMEA, NAVTEQ.  “Naturally, we are also looking to drive the adoption of digital navigation in Romania and feel anyone using devices with NAVTEQ data will quickly appreciate the benefits.” Read More
