Tampa, Florida, May 5, 2015 — At the IGTF/ASPRS 2015 conference in Tampa, Florida, Microsoft’s UltraCam business unit is introducing an updated version of the UltraMap workflow software system to enable UltraCam customers to produce richer data products, work more efficiently and cost-effectively, and extend their data offerings to customers.

UltraMap v3.9 augments Microsoft’s industry leadership in imagery workflow and processing with significant customer-requested updates along with innovative new capabilities.

The key benefits of UltraMap 3.9 include :

  • Higher quality of data products through:
    • Noise reduced point cloud
    • Oblique Aerial Triangulation (AT) support for improved exterior orientation of oblique images
    • Manual Digital Surface Model (DSM) editing tools to fine-tune the quality of DSM and DSM Ortho
  • Increased efficiencies and minimized production costs through:
    • 3D visual analytics for better insight into AT
    • Rapid reprocessing of orthos with radiometry settings
    • UI improvements (shortcuts, additional preferences)
    • Simplified Lvl02 re-processing for images with warnings
  • Extended customer offerings through:
    • Export DSM Ortho contribution mask
    • Improved reporting (Raw Data Center, AT, Radiometry)

“UltraMap v3.9 underscores Microsoft’s commitment to providing our aerial imaging customers with tools that further improve operational efficiencies and produce data products of the highest quality,” said Alexander Wiechert, Microsoft Business Director. “The enhancements and new capabilities of this release extend our leadership in supporting robust and feature-rich photogrammetric workflow experiences. Furthermore, these updates increase the flexibility of the UltraMap workflow, a core benefit of our software that was also recently augmented through subscription-based pricing for ‘just-in-time’ processing. These recent developments, and those to come, are brought about by an understanding of the customer’s business and our desire to help them by aligning our business model to their needs.”

The UltraMap v3.9 will be available for delivery to customers beginning of July 2015. Stop by Booth #308 at IGTF/ASPRS to learn more.
