Agro-Advisory Services (AAS) of Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), under the ministry of earth sciences, New Delhi, is helping farmers by equipping them with information about monthly and seasonal variation in weather conditions with high-power computer system (HPCS) which promises to prepare them in advance for minimising the losses in agriculture. As many as two million farmers across the country are benefiting from AAS which has completed the first phase on March 31 this year, said KK Singh, director, IMD while talking to TOI on Friday.
