GfK’s Map of the Month for October shows the regional distribution of purchasing power in Europe in 2023.
This year, the average per capita purchasing power in Europe rises to €17,688. However, there are significant differences between the 42 countries: Liechtenstein is in first place with a spending potential of €68,843 per capita, followed by Switzerland with €49,592 and Luxembourg with €40,931. The biggest winner of the year is Ireland, which moves up four places in the overall European comparison. In 2023, the Irish have a per capita purchasing power of €26,882, putting them in sixth place.

GfK Purchasing Power 2023 is available for 42 European countries at detailed regional levels such as municipalities and postcodes, along with seamlessly fitting data on inhabitants and households as well as digital maps.
