Cadcorp has been awarded a place in the Digital Marketplace as a supplier of GIS, web mapping and data services under G-Cloud 14.
The British spatial insight company offers the following GIS software and services in the cloud: Cadcorp SIS Desktop, SIS WebMap, SIS Notice Board™, Spatial Database Service and Map and Data Service. This includes new and improved functionality and enhancements in Cadcorp SIS 9.1 and continued support for Ordnance Survey® (OS) GB data and services.
SIS Desktop in the cloud is used for viewing, querying, editing, analysis and modelling spatial data. It offers a wide range of new options for drawing, routing, analysis, and processing. An analysis example includes a cartogram function, providing an effective alternative when presenting visualisations to stakeholders.
Routing functionality offers a number of options with the SIS routing engine, OSRM, and the multi-purpose routing engine, Valhalla. A Route Matrix command allows users to carry out ‘many-to-many’ routing operations in a single, easily configurable step. The SIS route-finding engine supports bi-directional route costs, allowing users to benefit from OS National Geographic Database (NGD) Road speed attributes.
SIS WebMap in the cloud provides next-generation web mapping with an intuitive, browser-independent, mobile-responsive interface and a wide range of viewing, querying, analysing and editing options. The introduction of ‘My Data’ to the interface adds significant functionality, such as creating themes and uploading and exporting data. ‘My Data’ also supports uploading GeoJSON files to add business data to the map.
As part of its Map and Data Service, Cadcop has added an EPC Data Service that provides Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) ratings for over 10 million residential properties in Great Britain. Each record has been geocoded based on the national Unique Property Reference Number (UPRN) to allow organisations the opportunity to analyse each location individually or as part of a wider area. Easy access to EPC data provides significant benefits to many industry sectors including government, land and property, environment, and finance.
GIS technology in the cloud provides significant organisational benefits. It reduces the administration overhead of keeping data and software up-to-date and has the potential to reduce the overall cost of ownership. The G-Cloud 14 framework went live in November 2024. Cadcorp is categorised under Lot 2: Cloud software.
