In a statement, Leica Geosystems, part of Hexagon, announced the introduction of the Leica BLK360 SE Essentials reality capture solution.
Described as “a comprehensive solution designed to make reality capture technology accessible,” the BLK360 SE Essentials package includes three tools:
- Leica BLK360 SE: A lightweight, compact imaging laser scanner, the BLK360 SE “produces professional-grade 2D and 3D models with a simple one-button operation” Leica Geosystems said the scanner employs a four-camera system that “captures 104-megapixel HDR images to add detailed visual context to every model.”
- Leica Cyclone FIELD 360: This app “provides a simple mobile interface to guide users through the scanning process in the field, helping to align scans, adjust settings, and validate results. The app can also take quick, in-field measurements of walls, openings, and objects, helping to speed up decisions and deliverables even before the scan is processed.”
- PinPoint: According to Leica Geosystems, “PinPoint quickly and intuitively turns scan data into usable models.” The app features “Built-in tools for measurement, analysis, and data cleaning help keep projects accurate and organized,” and “data can be imported and exported to a wide variety of file formats and is compatible with popular CAD and BIM applications.”
The company reported that the Leica BLK360 SE Essentials is “currently available in select countries and will be rolled out to other regions in the future.”
