Largest GIS Data Update in Two Years Released by Hart Energy’s Rextag Unit

  • Rating12345

HOUSTON, July 16, 2015 — The latest release of Hart Energy’s Rextag-brand GIS (Geographic Information System) data for midstream infrastructure covers more than 1.2 million miles of oil and gas pipelines and thousands of energy-related infrastructure facilities in North America. The recently-updated database adds more than 35,000 miles of pipeline to the current data, which is more than double the typical quarterly revision.

“Approximately half of the new data can be attributed to increased midstream construction, especially in Texas’ Eagle Ford,” said Rey Tagle, Hart Energy vice president. “For the more advanced power users, companies can license raw GIS data for use on desktop applications. We also offer the same quality data to casual users via a web application called Rextag GeoWeb Portal.”

The easy-to-use GeoWeb tool facilitates mapping, decision-making, and enables users to work with data without additional software or specialized training.

The Rextag GeoWeb portal offers:

  • a complete and detailed global database of the energy infrastructure
  • the most actively developed dataset in terms of growth
  • the most spatially accurate information
  • and the most miles of digitized pipelines
