Graz, Austria • January 22, 2026 – Vexcel Imaging is excited to announce that Kavel 10, a leading provider of aerial imagery in the Netherlands, has invested in three UltraCam Osprey 4.2 large-format aerial cameras, consisting of two Standard and one Tele version, to support an ambitious, nationwide aerial mapping initiative. The investment also includes the UltraMap photogrammetric workflow up to orthophoto production, enabling efficient and highly automated data processing.
With this integrated hardware and software solution, Kavel 10 is planning to capture the entire Netherlands at an exceptional ground sampling distance (GSD) of 3 centimeters. “With our nationwide data program at this unprecedented level of detail, we are setting a new standard for aerial mapping in the Netherlands,” said Richard Brouwer, Co-CEO at Kavel 10. “By producing a true orthophoto, high-quality oblique imagery, and a detailed 3D mesh from a single, consistent dataset, we significantly strengthen our promise to deliver the best possible view of the Netherlands. The UltraCam Osprey 4.2, released in 2025, represents Vexcel’s latest evolution in large-format nadir and oblique aerial imaging technology. Compared to the previous 4.1 model, the system significantly increases acquisition efficiency by combining a nadir image swath exceeding 25,000 pixels and 243 megapixels of oblique imaging in four directions with enhanced operational flexibility to optimize flight planning, coverage, and overall mission performance. Designed for the most demanding photogrammetric tasks, the Osprey 4.2 delivers exceptional image detail and geometric fidelity, enabling high-quality results across applications such as nationwide urban mapping, infrastructure analysis, and 3D geospatial data production.
