  • Rating12345

September 25, 2015 —The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and Airports Authority of India (AAI) will jointly host Global Navigation Satellite System – User Meet 2015 on Oct 8 at ISRO Satellite Centre in Bangalore.

The theme of the meet is Towards Self Reliance in Satellite Navigation.

India has entered into the realm of satellite-based navigation with its two pioneering projects GAGAN and IRNSS.

With the certification of GAGAN for precision approach and IRNSS providing independent positioning with four satellites, the time is apt to gather the Indian GNSS community.

The meet intends to bring together the GNSS-based industries, receiver manufacturers, PNT service providers, application developers, content providers and the user community along with the academia on a common platform.

Besides it aims to explore various avenues to utilise the Indian satellite-based navigation services for the socio-economic benefits of the country.

This one-day event includes plenary session with talks delivered by eminent personalities from the GNSS community, technical sessions and a panel discussion.

Also, an exhibition showcasing the GNSS products and services by the industry is organised on the occasion. Papers are invited for four technical sessions with themes: GAGAN IRNSS Applications; Innovative Transport and Location Based Services; Receiver Technologies using GAGAN/IRNSS, and Advanced Algorithms and Methods for GNSS.

A competition is also organized for the students to elicit innovative ideas from the young and ignited minds of our country on the topic Innovative ideas in GNSS Design and Applications.
