Intergraph® Announces OEM Agreement with MapText, Inc.

  • Rating12345

Intergraph announces it has signed an OEM agreement with MapText, Inc., the leading label-placement solutions provider for local, state and national government mapping agencies worldwide. Through the agreement, MapText’s GeoLabel Pro product will be fully embedded into the Intergraph GeoMedia Desktop product line, enhancing the overall labeling capabilities within the product suite. As such, users can define rules for the placement, content and style of feature-based generated labels that are both dynamic and static.

“By embedding GeoLabel Pro into GeoMedia, users will further maximize the value of their geospatial resources by using key labeling features for presenting clear and actionable information,” said Vince Smith, GeoMedia Product Line Executive, Intergraph. “With the capability to better display high-quality maps, users will be able to enhance sharing of key data thanks to GeoMedia’s simultaneous access to geospatial data in almost any form.”
“We are very excited with the adoption of the GeoLabel Pro solution as the labeling engine for the large worldwide customer base of GeoMedia,” said Rishi Mehra, Director Business Development, MapText. “We view the agreement as a major step in our partnership with Intergraph to provide high-performance labeling solutions for the various industries and markets that utilize Intergraph geospatial solutions.”
GeoLabel Pro allows for the most optimized placement of labels with obstacle avoidance across all feature layers, as well as the dynamic text placement mode that provides optimal on-screen viewing. Regarding point features, the software offers nine selectable text positions and stacking for allowing or disallowing labels to cross lines. It also offers a high-placement percentage for labeling, which minimizes the need for post editing.
GeoMedia 2012 is a powerful GIS management package that enables users to realize the maximum value of their geospatial resources, integrating them into clear, actionable information. The new release will continue to provide simultaneous access to geospatial data in almost any form, uniting them in a single map view for efficient processing, analysis, presentation and sharing. Its intuitive, dynamic analysis functionality enables concatenation of analysis processes so the results of one operation feed directly into the next process, as well as automatic updating of results in response to data changes.
