Dealing with the consequences of natural catastrophes continues to increase in importance around the world. Specifically, efforts are being made to control existing potential danger in a way that minimizes repercussions for people and the infrastructure. The UN has been dealing with this topic since 1999 and has established an international strategy to reduce the effects of natural disasters (UNISDR). The Turkish government is paying special attention to the effective prevention of earthquake damage within the scope of a 400-billion US dollar investment program for urban renewal.
Seismic Safety and INTERGEO Eurasia, two trade shows that take place at the WOW Convention Center in Istanbul from April 28–29, 2014, follow this train of thought. They cover the entire process chain, from early warning systems to earthquake and fire-resistant construction and renovation of buildings and prevention-oriented urban and regional planning.
Within the scope of Seismic Safety, Turkish and international experts will address issues that pertain to the Istanbul–Turkey–Middle Eastern region and discuss potential solutions. Seismic Safety and INTERGEO Eurasia open on April 28, 2014 with a lecture that focuses on synergy between the two events. During the fairs, there will be expert discussions on the topic of earthquake resistance, fire protection and intelligent urbanization that will be summarized in a review on the second day of the exhibition. As a result, the program of related events at Seismic Safety rounds out the solutions that exhibiting companies have on display at the fair.
Exhibitors are predominantly Turkish companies and international companies from Europe and North America. Among other things, they include well known companies such as Kronoply, Binderholz, AKG Gazbeton, Nedo and SISTEM A.Ş. Trade visitors attending Seismic Safety and INTERGEO Eurasia come from the sectors for urban planning, civil engineering, architecture and project development in Turkey and the Middle East.
Seismic Safety and INTERGEO Eurasia are organized by MMI Eurasia in conjunction with Messe München International, HINTE Messe and the German Association of Surveying (DVW).
