Tasmanian climate change scientists have developed a tiny remote-controlled helicopter to help them map fragile coastal moss beds in Antarctica. The “OktoKopter” uses remote sensing techniques to monitor the impact of changes in temperature, wind speed and UV radiation. The Project leader Arko Lucieer says the delicate moss is a good indicator of climate change but it can not be mapped using traditional methods. Read More
