ICIMOD Open House – Nepal

  • Rating12345

Each year, ICIMOD celebrates International Women’s Day on 8 March to honour, highlight and promote the role of women in sustainable mountain development. This year, the Centre looks forward to celebrating two events.  During the first event, ‘Celebrating 100 Years of International Women’s Day’, ICIMOD is honoured to welcome Ms Anuradha Koirala, Chairperson of Maiti Nepal and CNN Hero of the year 2010, as the Guest of Honour and Keynote speaker in an in-house programme and  a one-and-half-day consultative and roundtable workshop (participation by invitation only) <http://www.icimod.org/?page=1804>

ICIMOD will be opening its doors again to the interested public on 12 March 2011 following the stupendous success last year! The Open House will consist of visits to our programmes (in the morning) and a fair outside, with more than 40 stalls from our partners, a photo exhibition to celebrate this year’s UN International Year of Forests, a mountain quiz, documentary shows, schools’ herbal garden initiative, fun stalls, and many more <http://www.icimod.org/?page=1785>  All are cordially invited to come this event from 10.00-4.00 pm (programme visits to 1 pm, fair to 4 pm) at our premises in Khumaltar, Lalitpur.

The ICIMOD Open House will be preceded by a Nepal-ICIMOD Day Workshop on 11 March for invited participants. The workshop is intended to highlight the work ICIMOD is carrying out with and through its Nepalese partners in the field of climate change adaptation and resilience building in Nepal <http://www.icimod.org/?page=1788>.
