Hexagon to update high-resolution aerial imagery across ten US states for 2025

  • Rating12345

(Washington, D.C., United States, 12 June 2025) Hexagon’s Geosystems division announces an update to its Hexagon Content Program, refreshing high-resolution aerial imagery across ten US states during the 2025 collection season. This update will cover approximately 798,028 square miles (2,066,883 square kilometres) of high-definition aerial data, including four-band orthoimagery, 3D point clouds, and stereo imagery.

This year’s update includes the states of Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, and South Dakota.

The refreshed orthoimagery will be available for pixel-level download via Hexagon Digital Reality (HxDR), the company’s cloud-based platform for storing, visualising, and sharing geospatial data. Users can also stream the imagery through standard mapping APIs. Additionally, 3D point clouds will be available for both streaming and download, while stereo imagery can be requested through custom orders.

“Reliable, high-resolution aerial data is a powerful tool for communities and organisations,” says John Welter, President of Geospatial Content Solutions at Hexagon’s Geosystems division. “This update empowers stakeholders with the insights needed to support smarter planning, economic development, and improved public services.”

Hexagon’s contiguous coverage of the US supports a wide range of applications, from urban development and infrastructure management to environmental monitoring and emergency response.
