St. Paul, Minnesota — The Geospatial Information and Technology Association (GITA) is pleased to announce that for the first time in its 33-year history it will be delivering four (4) conferences in a two (2) month period. Starting with the GITA Pacific Northwest Chapter Conference in Mukilteo, Washington on April 18-19, and finishing with the Upper Midwest Geospatial Conference on May 25-26 in La Crosse, Wisconsin, GITA will be offering a diverse range of career enhancing educational events at four strategic locations across the continent. In addition, every effort has been made to tailor subject matter to be both region and employment strata appropriate. For example, EnerGIS in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania on May 16-17 is in its fourth year of support to the East Coast energy sector, while GeoBuiz 2016 in the Washington DC metro city of Bethesda, Maryland, April 25-26, has a venue designed to create dialogue among senior industry thought leaders and visionaries.
In announcing this ambitious schedule of events, GITA President Mark Limbruner commented: “In its long history of prestigious service to the infrastructure and geospatial communities, GITA has always been driven by the belief that our profession and its associated core industries continue to evolve rapidly. As such, it is important that our members, affiliates and supporters have the opportunity to stay abreast of these changes and can engage with one another in a peer-to-peer setting that is also vendor friendly. We believe our efforts to target the announced locations and sectors fulfills that mission. We also believe these regional conferences during April and May 2016 offer an unparalleled opportunity for attendees to learn about advancements in geospatial technologies, find new business opportunities and advance their careers.”
The schedule of GITA’s events for April and May 2016 is as follows:
