The 3rd International Conference on Geographical Information Systems Theory, Applications and Management (GISTAM 2017) has an open call for papers, whose deadline is scheduled for November 30, 2016. We hope you can participate in this conference by submitting a paper reflecting your current research in any of the following areas: data acquisition and processing, remote sensing, modeling, representation and visualisation, knowledge extraction and management, and domain applications. GISTAM 2017 will be held in Porto, Portugal, on 27-28 April 2017.
The conference will be sponsored by the Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication (INSTICC) and held in cooperation with the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS), the Canadian Institute of Geomatics (CIG), the ACM Special Interest Group on Spatial Information (ACM SIGSPATIAL), the European Association of Geographers (EUROGEO), the Société Francaise de Photogrammétrie et de Télédétection (SFPT), the Global Spatial Data Infrastructure Association (GSDI), the Associazione Italiana di Geografia fisica e Geomorfologia (AIGeo), the Group on Earth Observations (GEO) and The Imaging and Geospatial Information Scoiety (ASPRS). INSTICC is Member of the Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC) and Object Management Group (OMG). Logistics Partner the Science and Technology Events (SCITEVENTS).
Geospatial meeting point
The International Conference on Geographical Information Systems Theory, Applications and Management aims at creating a meeting point of researchers and practitioners that address new challenges in geo-spatial data sensing, observation, representation, processing, visualisation, sharing and managing, in all aspects concerning both information communication and technologies (ICT) as well as management information systems and knowledge-based systems. The conference welcomes original papers of either practical or theoretical nature, presenting research or applications, of specialized or interdisciplinary nature, addressing any aspect of geographic information systems and technologies.
The organisation committee would like to highlight the presence of the following keynote speakers: George Vosselman, University of Twente, Netherlands, Jorge Miguel Alberto de Miranda, University of Lisbon, Portugal, and Yannis Ioannidis, University Of Athens, Greece.
Papers and proceedings
Submitted papers will be subject to a double-blind review process. All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings, under an ISBN reference, on paper and on CD-ROM support. The proceedings will be submitted for indexation by Thomson Reuters Conference Proceedings Citation Index (ISI), INSPEC, DBLP, EI (Elsevier Engineering Village Index) and Scopus. All papers presented at the conference venue will be available at the SCITEPRESS Digital Library. SCITEPRESS is a member of CrossRef.
Best paper awards will be distributed during the conference closing session. Please check the website for further information.
Workshops and special sessions
Workshops, special sessions, tutorials as well as demonstrations dedicated to other technical/scientific topics are also envisaged: companies interested in presenting their products/methodologies or researchers interested in holding a tutorial are invited to contact the conference secretariat. Workshop chairs and special session chairs will benefit from logistics support and other types of support, including secretariat and financial support, to facilitate the development of a valid idea.
GISTAM 2017 will be held in conjunction with ICEIS 2017, ICT4AWE 2017, and ENASE 2017. Registration to GISTAM will enable free attendance to any sessions of ICEIS, ICT4AWE and ENASE conference as a non-speaker.
