  • Rating12345

Des Plaines, IL  – URISA and the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) are pleased to announce the 2017 GIS /CAMA Technologies Conference, March 6-9, 2017 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. For more than twenty years, the organizations have hosted a conference that assists assessment and appraisal professionals in visualizing how they can work more effectively through the use of technology. This conference explores the important role that the integration of Geographic Information System (GIS) and Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal (CAMA) systems plays in providing access to data and analysis of information for better decision making within a jurisdiction.

The conference program is detailed online.

Three full-day preconference workshops are offered on Monday, March 6:

  • Basics of the R Statistical Software
  • Deploying Mobile GIS Solutions
  • Introduction to AVM and Spatial Analysis

The conference is pleased to welcome Greg Milner, author of Pinpoint: How GPS is Changing Technology, Culture and our Minds, as our keynote speaker.   An additional keynote address will be part of the agenda on Wednesday (details forthcoming), and a closing panel discussion will highlight the National Parcel Database.

Nearly sixty speakers will share their research and experiences within eighteen breakout sessions in three program tracks:

  • Modeling and Valuation Considerations
  • GIS Technologies
  • Assessment Administration: Best Practices

This conference is known for its technology-savvy attendees. In addition to targeted time in the exhibition, participating providers are given the opportunity to promote their solutions in the all-conference Vendor Spark session and have additional opportunities to host sponsored lunches. Platinum sponsor, Esri, is also setting up its Hands-On Learning Lab during the conference for self-paced tutorials.

Attendees are encouraged to take advantage of early registration discounts, valid until January 16. Exhibitor discounts are available until December 31.
