Geoimage Wins ALOS Reseller of the Year Award – Again!

  • Rating12345

RESTEC (Japan) announces that Geoimage Pty Ltd has yet again won an ALOS Reseller of the Year Award, this time for our work during 2009. The awards are presented to the top performing resellers around the globe to honour their commitment and dedication to the promotion and utilisation of ALOS Data. This is the third year in a row that Geoimage has won this prestigious award.

As Bob Walker, CEO of Geoimage, says “our team is justifiably proud that our hardwork and expertise with satellite imagery has been recognised by being awarded Reseller of the Year by RESTEC for the third year running. The ALOS satellite provides imagery and DEM information with a broad scale coverage, and is a veryimportant dataset for both Geoimage and our clients.”

The Advanced Land Observing Satellite (ALOS) was developed by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and successfully launched on January 24,2006. The satellite has three sensors – two optical imagers (PRISM & AVNIR-2) and an L-band Synthetic Aperture (PALSAR).

In addition to multispectral imagery captured by AVNIR-2, the PRISM sensor can acquire stereo panchromatic data in triplet mode which aids in the manufacture ofDEMs. ALOS is a popular imagery choice for mining, agriculture and environment sectors, and the production of Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) has generated a great deal of interest among Geoimage customers.
