  • Rating12345

Today GeoEye released its 2013 online calendar, “Evolution of Insight: 1999-2012”, which is now available for viewing and download at www.geoeye.com/2013calendar. The calendar, designed to be used as desktop wallpaper or to be printed, features GeoEye’s top image picks as well as a few honorable mentions (including the Moon!).

This year, “GeoEye looks back at our favorite satellite imagery that captured historic and iconic moments that changed our view of the world. For our 7th annual calendar, we look back on our 13-year heritage of satellite imagery collection. We carefully selected one image from each year since 1999 that captures an important moment in history or was simply arresting enough to capture our imaginations.”

Locations that made the cut in 2013:

  • Washington, D.C. (IKONOS first image)
  • Venice
  • New York City
  • Baghdad
  • Diamond Head, Hawaii
  • Ayers Rock, Australia
  • Gulfport, Mississippi
  • Cairo (making two appearances)
