Gas Discovery in the Barents Sea

Lundin Norway AS, operator of production licence 438,  has announced a gas discovery about 25 kilometres north of the Snøhvit field in the Barents Sea. The well proved gas in three separate zones: a 95-metre column in the Kolmule formation, in the Knurr formation, and gas in the Stø formation. Preliminary estimates place the size of the discovery between 2.5 – 8 billion standard cubic metres (Sm cu m) of recoverable gas.
