April 22, 2015 — Spatial Dimension is pleased to announce that FlexiCadastre has been chosen as the new mining cadastre and geodata information system for the Republic of Guinea Bissau.
Guinea Bissau recently went out on international tender for a new mining cadastre and geodata system through the Technical Assistance to the Extractive Industries Project (PATSIE). The aim of the PATSIE project is to increase the capacity and improve the performance of Government institutions in the extractive sectors in Guinea Bissau. The project is funded by the World Bank.
“While the mining sector in Guinea Bissau is still in its infancy, the Ministry of Natural Resources, with support from the World Bank, is determined to implement policies and systems to drive sustainable growth in this sector. The mining cadastre system will provide the ability to manage the full life-cycle of mining, exploration and building material licenses in the country, while the geodata system will provide an online portal to drive investor interest in Guinea Bissau. Spatial Dimension, together with our project partner, Esri Portugal, is looking forward to working closely with the Ministry of Natural Resources on this important project,” said Bill Feast, CEO of Spatial Dimension.
The project is anticipated to start in May 2015 and will have a duration of 12.5 months.
