In his 2010 state of the union address, President Obama set a goal to double U.S. exports in the next five years. To achieve this goal numerous programs are available from agencies to assist U.S. firms, particularly small business, enter and expand in the global market. The leading export assistance agencies will make presentations and meet with geospatial and engineering professionals at the Geospatial & Engineering International Conference to be held November 12-14 in Alexandria, VA.
Led by Richard Ginsburg, Chief of Trade and International Affairs at the Small Business Administration (SBA), a panel session will guide attendees through the many proven and highly successful programs currently available to firms seeking export assistance. The panel will include representatives from the U.S. Commerce Department, U.S. Trade and Development Agency, Export Import Bank of the United States (EX-IM Bank), and the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC).
Attendees will learn about U.S. government agencies that have business assistance programs and services directly related to the exporting of professional engineering and geospatial services, products, technology, and data. The session will also provide firms a road map to expanding into the international marketplace and the officials in U.S. agencies providing support for private sector businesses.
In addition to Federal agency assistance organizations, attendees will hear from companies that support exporting through ITAR and exporting control, legal, tax, human resources, and accounting topics.

The conference is focused on where the work is, how to compete for it, what’s available to help U.S. firms, and what is needed to go or grow globally”.
