  • Rating12345

In a major staffing announcement, Continental Mapping announces that mapping industry veteran Andy Dougherty will take on the role of president effective October 10, with current President David Hart transitioning to the role of CEO at that time.

During the announcement to staff, both emphasized that this transition is about growth and opportunity. “I have known Dave, Chris, and many at the Continental Mapping team for a long time and have always admired the way they do business and the way they’ve grown their business,” Dougherty said. “Continental Mapping demonstrates daily they have what it takes to be a mapping leader and innovator, and I’m looking forward to leading their continued growth.”

“Andy understands our innovation mindset,” Hart continued. “He is connected with our client base, and brings energy and leadership to our team. His presence and knowledge of the Washington, DC market, in particular, are critical to the future success of this company and I am very pleased to have Andy joining the team.”

After retirement from the US Navy, Andy joined 3001 International and shortly thereafter founded 3001’s Intel and Defense Solutions Group, which he managed and grew to 35M in revenue over a period of five years. After leading this group for a total of nine years, he later transitioned to another management position with Northrop Grumman, Inc.

Follow-on positions include VP of Business Development for Federal Sales at both Geoeye and DigitalGlobe managing their commercial satellite and imagery programs.

Andy joins Continental Mapping after working as KEYW’s Deputy Director of the Survey and Exploration Systems Sector where he expanded their business to the IC, DOD, Special Ops communities, and the Commonwealth Partners.

He is a member of the USGIF, SAME, AFCEA and INSA organizations.
