  • Rating12345

The Society for Conservation GIS would like to invite you to the 14th Annual Conference that will be held from July 16th to 19th, 2011. The theme for the 2011 Society of Conservation GIS conference is “Building Strength”.  The goal of the Society of Conservation GIS is to support GIS professionals and communities using GIS as a tool to achieve conservation around the world. The 2011 conference will focus on building the strength and capacity of individuals, communities and organizations to achieve conservation by building partnerships and support networks, the development and application of innovative tools and training, access to conservation science and conservation planning resources, and the development of decision support systems. There will also be opportunities to explore how the Society can continue to build its strength and the strength of its members and partners for conservation.

We hope you will be inspired to come and share your stories about Building Strength for conservation and your ideas for how as a society and as individuals we can contribute to building capacity and strength to support conservation actions and outcomes locally, regionally and globally.

Location

The 2011 SCGIS Conference will be held at the Northwoods Resort and Conference Center (www.northwoodsresort.com) located on Big Bear Lake, California, just 1 hour’s drive from Redlands, California, and a 3-hour drive from San Diego.
