RADARSAT Data for Mapping and Emergency Response in Russia

MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. has signed a contract for $2.5 million (CAD) with ScanEx Research and Development Centre (ScanEx) to provide RADARSAT data information to multiple ground stations in Russia over three years. Earth Observation: Floods in Yakutia

Operational satellite-based monitoring of floods on Russian rivers – “Floods-2011” project – is conducted by ScanEx RDC. Data of optical and radar imagery in direct reception mode are received by UniScan ground stations in Moscow, Magadan, Megion and Irkutsk. ScanEx specialists process the images and upload satellite and analysis data to the “Kosmosnimki-Floods” thematic geoportal.
