Earth Observation: Floods in Yakutia

Operational satellite-based monitoring of floods on Russian rivers – “Floods-2011” project – is conducted by ScanEx RDC. Data of optical and radar imagery in direct reception mode are received by UniScan ground stations in Moscow, Magadan, Megion and Irkutsk. ScanEx specialists process the images and upload satellite and analysis data to the “Kosmosnimki-Floods” thematic geoportal.

Satellite Images Show Extent of Mississippi River Sediment

Satellite images show large amounts of sediment throughout coastal Louisiana as a result of flooding on the Mississippi River, according to recent U.S. Geological Survey and NASA data.
