Today, the Spinning Enhanced Visible and Infrared Imager (SEVIRI) instrument on MSG-3 captured its first image of the Earth. This demonstrates that Europe’s latest geostationary weather satellite, launched on 5 July, is performing well and is on its way to taking over operational service after six months of commissioning.

BAO Canada Edition gives US-based multinational corporations that do business north of the border demographic, income, and business data for Canadian markets. BAO is a web application that generates maps, analyses, and reports on demographics, competition, and consumer lifestyles and buying behavior.

US geospatial services outfit MacDonald Dettwiler and Associates EarthSat is expanding overseas and is now offering wind generation forecasts for the UK, Ireland and Germany. The company already provides hourly forecasts for ERCOT, MISO, BPA and others in North America and said it “is pleased to accommodate those with interests in European wind generation”.
