Boundless Announces Commitment to GeoNode

  • Rating12345

New York, NY, May 6, 2015 — Boundless, the leading provider of open source geospatial software and services, is pleased to announce the availability of tailored services and support for the GeoNode project (http://www.geonode.org/).

GeoNode, an open source geospatial content management platform, was developed by Boundless in 2010 in support of disaster relief work through the World Bank’s Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery.  Professional services packages from Boundless will support customers with the implementation, customization, and commercial support of GeoNode deployments to upload, manage, and share geospatial data.

GeoNode enables the rapid deployment of easy-to-manage and easy-to-use spatial data infrastructures.  GeoNode enables communities of users to share geospatial data, to collaborate on these datasets, and to publish them as Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) compliant web services.  With GeoNode, a community of users can quickly discover, access, and share both geospatial and other (non-geospatial) linked content through an open source platform that they can modify and customize to their needs.  GeoNode lowers integration costs with support for open geospatial standards, maximizing interoperability with other content management platforms.  GeoNode has been deployed across the globe, and provides internationalization support.

“Boundless is committed to the developers and organizations that deploy and extend GeoNode, whether today or moving forward. There is a groundswell in the community for an open-source alternative to proprietary portal/SDI systems, and the GeoNode platform is well-positioned to meet this demand,” said Andy Dearing, Vice President of Professional Services at Boundless. “We are pleased to support the global community in the continued growth and success of the GeoNode project.”
