Blue Marble to Exhibit and Present Paper on GIS for Surveyors at NYSAPLS 2013

  • Rating12345

Blue Marble Geographics is pleased to be exhibiting for the first time at the New York State Association of Public Land Surveyors Annual Conference in Saratoga Springs, NY . Additionally, Blue Marble’s David McKittrick will present on the basics of GIS for Surveyors at the meeting. Blue Marble’s geospatial data manipulation, visualization and conversion solutions are used worldwide by thousands of GIS analysts at software, oil and gas, mining, civil engineering, surveying, and technology companies, as well as governmental and university organizations.

Blue Marble’s software technology is a great asset for any professional land surveyor. In particular, the Geographic Calculator is perhaps the most robust and comprehensive coordinate transformation tool available on the market today. Known for its extensive coordinate system support, the product offers a wide variety of features, from allowing users to select various Geoid definitions, access to horizontal time dependent transformations or even direct AutoCAD 2012 data translation support.

Global Mapper, the focus of McKittrick’s presentation, is a powerful and user friendly tool for working with GIS data. It’s affordable price point, intuitive user interface, support for some two hundred unique geospatial file formats and support for a variety of free online data sources is quickly making Global Mapper the GIS tool of choice for surveyors who may not want to learn an entirely new software program. McKittrick will accent how new users can quickly come up to speed with the tool, accomplish what they need with their GIS data and move on to the next job. The Blue Marble Team is excited to showcase all of their products at NYSAPLS, which include the Blue Marble Desktop, the Geographic Calculator, Global Mapper, GeoCore, GeoCalc, and the Global Mapper developer toolkits, to all attendees.

“We are pleased to be able to attend NYSAPLS for the first time,” stated Blue Marble President Patrick Cunningham. “We know our tools can help our users be efficient and productive at a great return on their investment and we are excited to share that information with surveyors and GIS professionals in the New York area.”
