Hallowell, Maine — Blue Marble Geographics (bluemarblegeo.com) is pleased to announce that the first stop on the Blue Marble User Conference (BMUC) Road Show was a resounding success. Attendees at the Houston event on March 2nd were treated to a full day of software demonstrations, user presentations, tips and tricks sessions, and much more. Initial feedback from participants, representing a wide variety businesses, industry sectors, and government departments, has been overwhelmingly positive.

Blue Marble’s geospatial data manipulation, visualization, and conversion solutions are used worldwide by thousands of GIS analysts at software, energy, mining, civil engineering, surveying, and technology companies, as well as government agencies and academic institutions.

After opening remarks outlining Blue Marble’s current and future product development plans, Tracy McLane from Bechtel Infrastructure spoke on the subject of The Development of a Vertical Adjustment Model for Modeling Local Geoids Using Blue Marble Tools. Later in the day, Anthony Beach from BSP Engineers, Inc. outlined several Global Mapper Workflows for the Civil Engineering Profession. Blue Marble applications specialists rounded out the day’s proceedings with demonstrations of the latest features and functions in Global Mapper and Geographic Calculator.

“Houston is a great venue for the Blue Marble User Conference, especially now that more and more of the Blue Marble user community have become familiar with Global Mapper.” stated Kris Berglund, Vice President of Sales at Blue Marble. “Our User Conferences in this city are always well supported and this year was no exception.  Many have asked us to bring BMUC back to Houston on a regular basis, which we intend to do.”

From Houston, the Road Show heads north and across the border to Calgary, Alberta. In conjunction with the GeoConvention, at which Blue Marble will be exhibiting and presenting, the BMUC meeting will take place on Thursday March 10th at the University of Calgary’s downtown campus. Further stops will be made in the San Francisco Bay area, Pittsburgh, and Boston over successive weeks. Registration is open for each of these meetings and space is limited.
