Hallowell, Maine – September 2, 2015 – Blue Marble Geographics (bluemarblegeo.com) has an impressive list of featured speakers for the 2015 Blue Marble User Conference (BMUC) coming to Arlington, Virginia. The sixth Blue Marble User Conference, this is the first BMUC to be held in the metro Washington D.C. area.
Blue Marble’s geospatial data manipulation, visualization and conversion solutions are used worldwide by thousands of GIS analysts at software, oil and gas, mining, civil engineering, surveying, and technology companies, as well as governmental and university organizations.
The 2015 conference will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn Arlington Courthouse Plaza on Tuesday, October 6th. In past years, the Blue Marble User Conferences have proven to be a great opportunity to learn more about new mapping techniques and to discuss upcoming features and functions of the software that will help users streamline their workflow as well as help to maximize software investment. BMUC is also a great event for networking with industry professionals and for providing the Blue Marble Team with feedback to ensure that they continue to deliver high-quality, customer-driven products.
The Washington D.C. area conference will feature speakers from industry leaders such as Woolpert, Bechtel Infrastructure, Aerial Filmworks and more. The Blue Marble Team will also demonstrate the latest features and functions found within Global Mapper version 17.0 (scheduled for release in September 2015) and the latest release of Geographic Calculator 2015. The Blue Marble User Conference is a great opportunity to collaborate with the Blue Marble Team to see why so many consider Blue Marble software essential to their work as well as to learn what is next from the company.
Tracy McLane and Fadi Bayoud of Bechtel Infrastructure will co-present on the Development of a Vertical Adjustment Model for Riyadh using Blue Marble Tools. Qassim Abdullah, Ph.D. and Senior Geospatial Scientist at Woolpert Inc. will talk on Using Custom Coordinate References Systems in Geographic Calculator for use with Global Mapper. Global Mapper’s 3-D Visualization Tools can be used to prepare DEM data for output as high-resolution multi-color 3-D printed terrain models as demonstrated by John Lee, 3-D Specialist at ABC Imaging. Marc Marino of Florida Marine Tracks will speak on the use of Global Mapper, bathymetric data and the latest dataset of aerial imagery to produce a marine navigation system package to ensure a safe boating experience throughout all of Florida’s coastlines.
“It’s a rewarding day to spend time meeting with our users and prospective users,” stated Blue Marble President Patrick Cunningham. “We are excited to bring the BMUC to the D.C. area to learn from our users and share our ideas for the future of Blue Marble and GIS.”
