Sustainable Development in Germany

In April 2002, the German Federal Government published its national strategy for sustainable development, entitled “Perspektiven für Deutschland” (Perspectives for Germany). The strategy’s core element consists of 21 indicators. The purpose of the indicators is to monitor the sustainability of the economy, the environment and the society.
