AirGon Announces Technical Workshop for Drone Collected Volumetrics

  • Rating12345

Huntsville, AL, May 7, 2015 — AirGon LLC is pleased to announce a 2 day Technical Workshop for Drone Collected Volumetrics to be held in Toronto, Canada. This event will be a comprehensive overview of using a small UAS (drone) to collect and process data for volumetric calculations.

There will be a complete drone demonstration where we will plan and fly a data collection mission at a quarry site. We will then process the data to create ortho images, a dense point cloud and volumetric computations.   Special consideration will be given to planning and assessing the metric accuracy of the data.

Topics for the workshop include :

  • Technical Overview of Drone Collected Volumetrics
  • Mission planning
  • Demonstration of field Operations – Flights at a quarry site
  • An Overview of Data Processing
  • Q&A Session

The workshop will be held June 11-12, 2015 at the Hilton Garden Inn, Toronto/Ajax, with technical demonstrations at VicDom Sand & Gravel, Uxbridge. Please note the demonstration flights will take place at an active quarry site; personal protective gear (steel-toed shoes, hard hat, hi-vis jacket) will be mandatory. Please bring appropriate gear with you as “loaners” will be limited.

Space for the workshop is limited with a maximum of 2 persons per company. Please note that a passport is required for travel between the USA and Canada.

To register for this event please visit www.geocue.com/events. Registration will be located under AirGon Technical Workshop for Drone Collected Volumetrics. The registration fee for this event is $300 USD.
