Agency9 today released their cloud service CityPlanner 2.0 internationally. Agency9 CityPlanner is a web service that empowers project managers, planners and architects to visualise and interact with 3D models on the internet. Project ideas can easily be created and edited, allowing for rapid evaluation of alternatives and feed-back from stakeholders and project members. CityPlanner features a multiuser role-based structure for control of access.
Organisations can use their own 3D city models and terrain data as scenery data. CityPlanner supports 3D data from all major map data providers, such as Blom and other providers like Computamaps, Digital Globe, Navteq or TomTom. The streaming technology in CityPlanner supports extensive geographical areas and city models.
Project members in CityPlanner can view the scenery data and easily create projects by uploading 3D CAD models, shape-files, adding text and defining viewpoints, on top of the scenery data. CityPlanner empower organisations to publish interactive 3D models via the web to citizens for information and public participation.
A project is created in a few minutes and becomes immediately available to all relevant people. The efficient communication will contribute to fewer planning mistakes and shorter projects.
Unlike traditional 3D tools, Agency9’s CityPlanner is provided as a web service. CityPlanner runs in all major web browser and platforms without requirement for high-performance workstations or installation of specific plug-in software. Agency9’s web service is the optimal tool when communicating and collaborating CAD/GIS models.
